The Ethiopian National Museum of Art and Science is a large, impressive museum covering 15,000 square meters. It is a place full of knowledge, creativity, and new ideas. The museum is a special center where people come to learn about the latest technology, inventions, and scientific discoveries found in Ethiopia. Each year, the museum hosts new displays and events that feature the most recent research and creative ideas from both private companies and public organizations. This year, for example, there was a big exhibition about water and energy, sponsored by the Ministry of Water and Energy, showing many scientific projects and government research efforts.

The museum was officially opened in October 2022 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and other important government leaders. It sits on seven hectares of land and has two big buildings that serve many different purposes. Some sections of the museum are permanent, while others change to feature new science and art. One of the museum’s unique features is its dome-shaped building, which not only looks modern but is also powered by solar panels that provide all the electricity the museum needs. The round design of the building stands for never-ending growth, human wisdom, and Ethiopia’s promise to invest in the future of science and technology.

Visiting the museum was inspiring for everyone, to all of us, because it offers a chance to experience what is new and exciting in the worlds of science and technology. When I first arrived and saw the outside of the museum, a full model of hydrological system and how all those things in ecosystem is connected, I felt excitement. The modern style, the busy crowd of locals and tourists, and the lively atmosphere made me want to stay for hours. The museum is truly a place where you can explore, learn, and feel the future happening all around you, the theme of those days were, water & Energy.
